Green Trans-Mountain Pipeline

On June 18, 2019, the Canadian government approved the expansion of the very controversial Trans Mountain Pipeline project, which transports crude and refined oil from Alberta to the coast of British Columbia.
The expansion dramatically increased the nominal capacity of the system, taking it from approximately 300,000 barrels of oil per day to 890,000 barrels per day. At the same time, it will inevitably lead to significant climate pollution, both upstream and downstream.
WePlant’s efforts in Alberta are the right thing to do to offset the pipeline’s increase in carbon pollution.
